          Isolation is generally achieved through switching devices. Since switching devices need to perform switching actions continuously, the number of times can exceed hundreds of millions, the reliability of switching devices is particularly important. Electromechanical devices perform well in carrying high currents, but mechanical wear begins after 1 million operations. Semiconductor switching devices usually cannot support high current and high voltage simultaneously within a single chip.
