The reed relay brings significant advantages for insulation measurement in hybrid and electric vehicles. The versatility of this relay allows it to reliably repeat each switch and handle various power loads and external environments. Unlike semiconductor switches, the internal capacitance of the reed relay is linear and does not change with temperature, and the internal components do not wear out over time. In terms of performance, the reed relay can accurately measure isolation voltage while having leakage currents in the picoamp range and fast switching capabilities of up to 1ms. This ensures millions of reliable operations, of course, depending on the load. If the isolation performance of the electric vehicle deteriorates, the reed relay can effectively raise an alarm before severe failure occurs.
The SIP-HV series reed relays are fully molded single-row plug-in high voltage relays or precision instrument-grade relays, capable of switching up to 1kVDC, with breakdown voltages reaching as high as 4kVDC. The insulation resistance exceeds 5 x 10^12Ω, and the PCB layout area required is minimal, only half that of traditional DIP packages.
